A party attended by over 3 million people, with over 100 events taking place in a culturally rich Texas city, what's not to like?
Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a one parade event to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. This was called the battle of flowers parade. In its first year, the parade was a huge success, with floats, horse drawn carriages, and flowers everywhere. As the years progressed, many other events were added.
Another long-standing tradition is the coronation of the court, where a king and queen are crowned. This honor is often bestowed on those who give back to the community.
There are so many reasons to go to fiesta san antonio. What is fiesta you say? It's a party with a purpose that gives back to the community.
